Treating a mapped drive as local

I’ve been having to keep my NUnit tests on my local drive because the network drive the rest of my project lives on doesn’t have enough permissions to run them.

This is bad because I can’t keep the tests with the code they’re testing and I keep forgetting to back them up. The PC I’m using is also not the most stable of machines and I won’t be at all surprised the day I come in and it refuses to boot up.

Anyway, I found this useful post about how to give a mapped drive full trust. Not really an ideal solution, but the best I can come up with for now.

Here’s the command you need to do it:

  1. c:\>caspol -q -machine -addgroup 1 -url file://z:/* FullTrust -name "Z Drive"

The caspol command can usually be found in:

c:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v1.1.4322
