It's love: Helen joins the people wearing white headphones
My boyfriend, Joe, talked me into buying an ipod on the weekend. Our conversation went something like this:
Joe: Well didn’t you want to buy an ipod?
Helen: What time is John Lewis open until?
I’m smitten! Seriously! It’s just so lovely! Now I’ve had one a week I don’t know how I lived the previous 23 years without one. I think the interface is pretty decent (I just like to fiddle with the volume so I can play with the scroll wheel) and the only negative thing I can say about the actual unit is that it’s a little bulky (glad I didn’t get a 60 gig). Functionality wise, I’m fairly seriously impressed with having my whole CD collection on this little device about the size of a gameboy with plenty of space to spare for carrying the odd linux ISO about if I want.
Coincidently, while I was listening to it on the bus this morning I was flicking through the latest issue of wired to arrive at my house and there was an article about podcasting. Joe warned me about ipod accessories and I feel a bit like a kid in a candy store now as I eagerly download something called ipodder so tomorrow on the bus I can listen to the wise words of Adam Curry, the dotnet rocks boys and Whole Wheat Radio.
